Tangerine Super Bowl Preview

All of that is behind the two teams now and the focus is solely on the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning has a chance to place himself amongst the greatest signal callers of all time and Brees can bring more than just a trophy back to a city in desperate need of something to celebrate about.
When it comes to talent these teams have a lot in common. Seven players from both teams were selected to the Pro Bowl this year and the two quarterbacks are very similar. The offensive lines for both teams are excellent as well. The men in the trenches for the Colts have only allowed Manning to be sacked 13 times this year, and the Saints have only let the defense get to Brees 20 times in 18 games. Both teams also play their home games in Domes, giving the upper hand in playing outside to, well, no one.
On a more personal note, both teams also have players from CNY high schools playing in the game. New Orleans defensive end Will Smith is from just down the road at Thomas R. Proctor high school and the Colts running back Mike Hart is from Onondaga Central School in Nedrow, NY.
In the end though it may come down to experience over talent. There are 18 players currently on the Colts roster who were on the Super Bowl winning team four years ago including Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning.
"The Colts have been there, they have the experience," said Jim Spartano, athletic director at UC. "The quarterback controls the game and Manning is the best in the league."
"It comes down to the quarterback," Said Blaise Faggiano, head football coach at UC. "With that said I've got to go with Peyton Manning and the Colts."
That seems to be the common answer when it comes to who people think is going to win the Super Bowl. ESPN.com polls, which fans vote on, have 59% of the nation choosing the Colts to win. Fifty-eight percent of voters think that the Colts have the offensive edge and it's easy to imagine that the reasoning
behind that is because of Peyton Manning.
"Peyton is such a smart player," Matt Gonyea, a junior at UC said. "He will read the Saints defense and lead his team to a Super Bowl victory and another Super Bowl MVP."
There are some people though who believe the Saints still have a shot.
"New Orleans defense will disrupt Peyton Manning," Collin Youker, a freshman at UC, said. "Just like they beat Minnesota consistently in getting to Favre."
"Indy won't be able to go point for point with the Saints high powered offense," said Youker.
