Walking down the paths at UC there are countless students in a vast array of clothing. Some are more dressed up than others but everyone has the same general intention: get to class.

On any weekday there are girls wearing heels, decked out in stylish outfits ready to go sit down in class for an hour. Other girls here at UC are not so dolled up and walk around campus in UGGs and a pair of sweats. The same is true for guys; some do dress up in an effort to look good while the rest throw on "hoodies" and walk to class.

Some may argue that it is college, and as 18-20-year-olds, we are suppose to look mature. That throwing on jeans and a sweatshirt everyday is not enough.

"I dress the same as I do on weekends, I dress up a little bit everyday," said Chey Syblis a freshman at UC.

"I guess it is a little bit of a run-way show," agreed her friend Priscilla Tenky.

Other students said similar things regarding fashion as a means of expression. Out of three students asked about their opinion to dress-up or dress-down, two agreed that it is better to dress-up.

However there are arguments to this topic. The argument being that college is not a runway and that we as students are here to learn not to model.

"It's class...wear jeans and a T-shirt" said Melissa Bevilacqua, another freshman."
Walking down the paths to get to Hubbard, Gordon or any facility, the majority of students are not making an overly huge attempt to be fashionable. The attempt to look good on the weekends is more noticeable rather than when students have class. This is not true for everyone but is for many.

Robert Alexander, freshman, agrees with this, and said that school is not meant for being a fashion show, it's more casual than not.

When asked if he dresses up at all for class he answered, "I could, but I don't. That is a weekend thing."

It is every student's own prerogative as how they would like to dress. College is full of a diverse group of young adults and by no means is everyone going to agree.
