Academic Support Services Hosts Event on Accomodating Students with Disabilities

The Office of Academic Support Services hosted the Adapting Curriculum for Student Success (ACSS) Conventions on Thursday, Feb. 25. Learning Specialist Judy Borner and the Director of Learning Services Kateri Henkel hosted the event and explained how students with disabilities get help and accommodations for their academics at Utica College.

Over One in Ten UC Students on Academic Probation

Approximately 11 percent of students every semester, whose grade point average fall below 2.0, are put on academic probation, according to Stephen M. Pattarini, dean of student success. Academic probation is used to closely monitor students' academic standing throughout the semester.

UC ECJS Building Wins Design Award

The Newest building on Utica College's campus and what most would probably consider the most eye catching, has been catching more than just the looks of students and members of the college community. The Economic Crime and Justice Studies building was awarded a 2009 merit award from the American Institute of Architecture.

Career Services Offers Tips on Interviewing

A small group of students made their way into the Willard Conference Room for the third seminar in the Backpack to Briefcase series on interviewing. Although a number of aspects covered throughout the seminar seemed obvious to many students, Steve Cantine, director of career services, pointed out the most common mistakes students make while sitting through that once in a lifetime interview.

Tournament Raises Money for Autism

The Autism Awareness Club began the six-a-side volleyball tournament on Tuesday Feb. 23, in the Clarke Athletic Center. Volleyball for Disabilities is one of the many charity and fundraising events held by organizations at Utica College. The event is being sponsored by the Autism Awareness Club to raise awareness for autism and other disabilities.
