Women's Basketball Rallies for Conference Win Over RIT

The Utica College Women's Basketball Team started out very flat and uninspired Friday night (1/29) as they hosted the R.I.T Tigers at the Clark Athletic Center. The Pioneers dug themselves an early first half hole when they trailed by as many as 18 points to the visiting Tigers.

Men's Hockey Swept in Elmira, Battling Injuries

It was not a good weekend for the Utica College Men's Hockey team as they fell to the number six-ranked Elmira Eagles 7-3 on Friday, and 6-1 on Saturday. Saturday's game was close after the first two periods. Elmira was up 1-0. Everything went wrong for the Pioneers in the third period as they gave up five goals making the game a blowout in a blink of an eye.

Hey, guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here, and this is the 40th edition of my blog. Wow, the big 4-0. I cannot believe I have lasted this long. Let's get to it. UC Hockey The Utica College men's hockey team lost both games at Elmira this past weekend. Elmira, who is ranked number six in the nation, beat UC 7-3 on Friday night and scored five goals in the third period to beat us 6-1 on Saturday night.

Women's Hockey Endures Rough Weekend

The Utica College Women's Ice Hockey team walked off the ice Sunday afternoon after losing two games against, nationally ranked no. 5 RIT. The Pioneers ended the weekend with a record of 9-10-2, as senior goalie Jill Doherty finished with 30 saves recorded on Saturday and 44 saves on Sunday.

Men's Basketball Defeats Elmira

The UC Men's basketball team defeated Elmira 46-32 last Saturday afternoon. Pat Goodman and James Patterson had a combined total of 29 points. Pat Goodman led all scorers with 16 points. The Victory over Elmira snaps a four game losing streak for the Pioneers.

Tangerine Super Bowl Preview

Super Bowl XLIV will be played in Miami, Florida on Sunday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. Although it may seem no different than any other Super Bowl, this one looks to be one of the most entertaining in recent memory. Two high powered offences will take the field, both led by two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

New Track Programs Has Hurdles to Overcome

Indoor Track and Field, a new athletic program at UC, is in its first year as a winter sport. The team does have some disadvantages to overcome. The UC campus does not have an indoor track, so every competition the team participates in has to be at other locations and the team can only practice at 9:00 in the evening at Hamilton College.
