UC students have been sharing both their positive and negative thoughts about the new changes in the cafeteria. Some students do not mind, while others seem to really dislike the alterations. Student opinions have been voiced on the cards for the bulletin board near the entrance of the dinging hall.

The Edith Langley Barrett Art Gallery at Utica College is hosting an exhibit of works from students through the Utica City School District, for the 14th consecutive year.
The gallery held a Meet the Artists reception on Sunday, Jan. 24 to officially open the month-long exhibit and to allow the Utica community to view the pieces and the students who created them.

The Utica College Reserve Officers Training Core honored its cadets for their fall semester achievements, as well as its graduating seniors at an award ceremony in the library concourse on Wednesday, Jan. 27
Cadets received awards for academic excellence, as well as excellence and improvement in physical training.

Initially called "Negro History Week" when it began in 1926, Black History Month is a national annual observance for remembrance of important people and events in African-American history. The national observance focuses on the civil rights movements of 1955-1968, slavery in America, notable speeches by African-Americans and African-Americans in poetry and entertainment among other things.

Amanda Evans, a 19-year-old from Marcy, is a computer whiz. She can check the weather in a flash, respond to friends on Facebook, check her e-mail, and all of this while typing her multi-page research paper on global climate. Evans also uses the internet to shop online, and that includes scoring deals on college textbooks.

The Utica College Autism Awareness Club held its monthly meeting on Tuesday night and featured guest speakers discussing their experiences with the unusual interests and talents of autism.
A.J. O'Hagan, club president, opened the event by talking about the unusual fixations he had during his childhood as a person with autism.

On Wednesday, Jan. 27, candidate Edward Stigall met with a panel that included Vice President for Enrollment Management Patrick Quinn. Quinn began the session by asking Stigall what he could bring to the table for UC.
"I think I have the ability to work with others to create a positive environment," Stigall said.

The Office of Career Services will host Backpack to Briefcase, a five part series of one-hour seminars on Wednesdays at 1pm in the Willard Conference Room in DePerno Hall.
The workshops will cover a variety of components, ranging from resumes and cover letters to internships and employment.
